BIOGRAPHY
Lisa Principe (b. 1993) is an Australian multidisciplinary artist based in Perth, whose work explores the profound relationship between people and place. Her practice highlights the unique qualities of each medium she employs, capturing the essence of place and encouraging viewers to pause, interpret, and connect with the unfolding narratives and symbols within each piece. Through her art, she seeks to inspire others to form their own connections with the overwhelming beauty and timeless presence of the natural world.

Using storytelling across various mediums, Principe intentionally creates space for viewers to experience the land moving through them, grounding them in the present moment. Blending realism and expressionism, she delves into the intricate relationship between land, people, and stories. By capturing both the enduring solidity of physical landscapes that have existed for centuries and the fluid, spiritual essence of her surroundings, Principe reveals the powerful beauty and awe embedded within each landscape.

A graduate of Curtin University with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art and a Diploma in Secondary Teaching, Principe has been teaching Visual Art for a decade. Her most recent showcase, Connection to Place (2021), featured a range of works inspired by the north-west region of Australia. Beyond her exhibitions, Principe's practice extends into the public realm, where she has completed several large-scale private and commercial mural commissions.
